BAC Residence Artists’ Open Studio Exhibition
Bishal Manandhar (Nepal)
Bishal is a Chicago based non-traditional still life artist from Nepal, who tries to see the deep meaning in simple objects. He has also been selected for an Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellowship at the Art Institute of Chicago, USA.
His works in this particular time is evolving around the emotional phenomenon of the earthquake and it’s affect to the people. He is depicting very simple objects (the remains of the buildings, heritage sites) as the subject of his art works and he is attempting to express the emotions visible through the pieces of his art works.
ABRAHAM Audrey (France)
Audrey ABRAHAM is a french Artist graduated from the National Superior School for Visuals Art “La Cambre”, Belgium. (M.F.A.)
She is a printmaker specialized in screen-printing and etching.
Through her practice she’s questioning the notions of landscape, journey and mapping.
Sushma Shakya (Nepal)
Sushma Shakya graduate from Tribhuvan University, Central Department of Fine Arts major in printmaking. She is recently working on issues which are related with environment and ecology.
Her work depicts the guideline of traditional paubha motifs based on Hindu and Buddhist philosophies and she also be putting up an installation piece that she has been working on.
